introduction post ♡

hello, and welcome to my blog! (,,>ヮ<,,)!

my name is jess, i am a 19 (almost 20!)  y/o digital artist based in nottingham, uk!

 i love to draw all sorts of things cute, colourful, and whimsical! i like to think my art has a very soft and sweet feel to it~  i really enjoy telling and creating stories within my artwork - whether that be by hidden meanings and symbolism, or by creating comics and interactive story's and websites to display my work on. i really love to give meaning and purpose behind each thing i create ☆

i like venturing into many things 2d digital related, whether it be concept art, character designs, props and environments, 2d animation and rigging and even some website and interface design. however, my personal favourite things to create are character designs, and comic/storytelling illustrations. 

heres a few examples of my art!

when i'm not off creating fantasy stories in my head or designing a new character, i enjoy playing a few different games - mainly cosy sandbox style games, visual novels, or any single player games that tell deep and interesting stories, but my all time favourite is Minecraft!

another game that i love and take lots of inspiration from is NiNoKuni: Wrath of the White Witch. i adore the art style of the game and the mechanics it has too offer. The art in that game was created by Studio Ghibli, an animation studio i really look up to and enjoy the work of!

as i previously said, i like to make 2d animations and specifically animation rigs! The style of animation i use isn't your stereotypical hand drawn frame by frame - instead i like to use a method called tweening! this is a method used in many form of common animation to date in lots of cartoon shows - where each body part is drawn induvially and rigged in a way to create the illusion of movement! I use a software called Live2D to create these models. to the left, there's a short gif of an example of a basic rig and model i made! it tracks to a persons body movement and expressions through a webcam ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧

i think that's all for my introduction blog. i'll be posting here constantly, mainly about my university coursework and such but i may make posts about some personal projects here too. that's all, bye for now~!
