building alliances: cave tour

 Group Cave Tour!

This blog includes:
- Cave Tour Overview
- Visual Research

This week on Tuesday, our group took a trip to the Nottingham Caves to gather further research and better insight for our group project!

As a group, we all decided to go on a cave tour together into the caves underneath city centre to learn more about the caves, see what they really looked like and get a better understanding of how we could make them look in our game. On our tour, we learnt a lot of interesting facts and information about the caves as well as taking a lot of different pictures to use as sources of inspiration.

We went on a guided tour through the caves with a small group of other people, while our tour guide told us about different features and things within the caves. Firstly, he showed us a well (pictures on the left) Which were originally dug from the surface down into the Caves to gather water years ago. They also dug steps and places for people to climb up and down the wells within the cave walls. We thought that this could be a really good idea for maybe how our game begins, as the MC needs to enter into the caves at the start of the game.
We also took pictures of the textures of the cave walls, as we thought that that would be a good idea to use for inspiration for our game. While our game is set in the caves, our version is a much more intense and larger version set in the future compared to the current day caves.

We learnt a lot of interesting facts on our tour thanks to our tour guide, as well as seeing a lot of things we could use for inspiration. Overall, I think our trip was really beneficial for our group and definitely for the development of our game.
