Week 12: Workshop and Character Development
- Gathering Feedback on my Design
- Colour Variants
- Final Design for Model
══════════════════════════════════════════════════════
This week was a workshop lesson, so i began to focus on choosing a design i liked and developing it further with the help and feedback of my peers. This is a task I will continue onwards over the christmas/new year break. Last week, I created a few concept sketches and ideas and asked for feedback on said designs. here is the feedback received, and how i changed and adapted my designs and selected my final design.
Feedback on my Concepts
I conducted a poll via instagram where i asked my follower base to provide their opinions and thoughts on my designs so far, and asked which they liked best and what they liked about them! I wanted to gather opinions of multiple different people so I could change my design if needed, or see which things people liked and thought worked the best.
I gathered a lot of responses, which all proved to be very useful! The main feedback i received consisted of: people saying they liked the design and colour palette of design 2, and people liked the unique silhouette and shape of design 1 the most.
Development of Designs
Since design 1 have the most popular design shape wise and feedback on its shape language, I decided to go with that design as my model. I also felt that it would be much simpler to model than some of my other designs, and would work well as my first full 3D Model practice. I created a few different colour variants of the design, as well as a variant using the popular colour palette from design 2 in my previous poll.
Then, I created a secondary poll asking my follower base once more which palette they liked best and thought worked well.
Below is the feedback from my second poll, based on colours and which palettes people prefered best.

From the feedback i received, it seemed colour pallete 2 was the most favourable, which I personally agreed with! I think it looks really cute and I'm excited to begin working on this model!
Final Design & Orthographics
This is my final design and orthographic for my character! I created a simple front and back view and also a side profile. though I'm not sure if I will follow my orthographic completely, I will use it as a guideline and reference for when I begin the modelling process!
