Environment Perspectives
This week, I decided to practice some environments and perspective again. Perspective and environments are the two things I struggle with the most, so i thought that practicing them again would be a good challenge and practice for myself.
For a warm up, I grabbed a screenshot from the game Sims 4 and decided to practice redrawing it. I tried to start with something simplistic, focusing on the corner of a room and the furniture inside it. Something I really struggle with is drawing multiple items in perspective, as I start to get confused about the way different things sit at different angles. I think that this turned out quite well, and it was a good warm up for myself. I would like to try doing more things like this in the future soon!
I also decided to study the perspectives of a few illustrations I found online. I traced the environments in a few illustrations, to figure out the perspectives they were drawn in, as well as how the vanishing points where located etc. This really helped my brain to process environments a bit better, and I decided to practice drawing one myself.
Practice illustration I did full sketch and also just the background).
I rarely draw backgrounds, so I think that this one turned out quite nicely. I think there are a few things that look slightly off such as the stairs, but I think these could be easily fixed. I really want to get better at backgrounds, but I find them so confusing and overwhelming sometimes. I will continue to practice them to keep improving my skills!
