 Figure Drawing Practice

This week, I once again did some figure studies gathered from references I found on Pinterest and Line of Action. I started by giving myself 1 minute to draw some poses. This warm up is fast paced, and allows me to get into the groove of drawing quickly. With fast paced drawing like this, it helps to generate the skills of being able to drawing quickly and capture the flow and position of different poses.

I then moved onto some 2 and 3 minute poses to give myself slightly more time. This allowed me to create slightly more detailed poses and capture the pose more accurately, as I had slightly longer to process certain parts of the anatomy and change things if needed.

I also decided to do some pose practice with two figures. Something I always find hard is drawing two objects or people interacting. So I decided to practice a selection of different poses of people interacting in different ways.

For these poses, I gave myself 8 minutes per pose to draw them. This was much harder than drawing just one figure even with a longer time frame, as there are more people to draw and making sure the anatomy looks good and contact points between the two characters also make sense and look natural.
